Accentuating Alumni Daniel Coleson

Daniel Coleson, a 2023 graduate of the Fire Service Training program at the Delaware Area Career Center, is already making a meaningful impact in his community as a Firefighter/Paramedic with the Clinton Township Fire Department. A graduate of Delaware Hayes High School, Daniel credits DACC with giving him the strong foundation he needed to confidently step into a demanding and rewarding career in fire service.

During his time at DACC, Daniel gained essential baseline certifications and hands-on training that prepared him for the realities of emergency response. “DACC gave me a great base of knowledge and my baseline certificates to start my career in the fire service,” he shared. That early preparation helped him transition smoothly into the field and feel confident in his career choice.

Today, Daniel says he feels great about where he is professionally and is proud of the path he’s chosen. His experience at DACC not only prepared him technically but also reinforced the importance of listening, learning, and taking advantage of opportunities early.

For current and future DACC students, Daniel offers practical advice rooted in experience: listen to your instructor and, if you plan on going to paramedic school, do it as soon as possible. His message reflects the urgency and momentum that career and technical education can provide when students fully lean into the opportunities in front of them.

Daniel Coleson’s journey is a strong example of how DACC’s Fire Service Training program equips students with the skills, certifications, and confidence needed to serve their communities and launch meaningful careers.
