DACC Students recently competed in the Region 5 Regional HOSA Competition. Hannah Plank (Dental Assisting), Ghazal Alhabashneh (Dental Assisting), and Kya Oberfield (Pharmacy Technician) all participated.
Hannah competed in Dental Terminology, a test-only competition where she placed 1st in the Region at the State Competition. Hannah is her eligible to attend the International Leadership Conference.
Ghazal competed in Dental Science, a two-round competition where she tested and placed 2nd in the Region. This allowed her to advance to the State Competition, where she continued to round two and placed 1st in the State, securing a place in the International Leadership Conference.
Kya took part in Prepared Speaking, a presentation event where she had to write and deliver a speech covering the topic of "Beyond All Limits.” After practicing and making necessary edits to her speech, she competed against all Region 5 competitors and placed second. Kya's speech took 2nd place in the Region, allowing her to participate in the State Competition. Her success makes her eligible to compete in the International Leadership Conference.
