Criminal Justice
Gain the knowledge and skills necessary to make arrests, investigate crimes, and handle stressful police and correctional situations while building your mind and body through physical fitness and defensive tactics training.
Students will develop the skills necessary to compete for jobs in the fields of law enforcement, corrections, and private security through realistic training and partnerships with local agencies. You will be ready to pursue law enforcement at a police academy or pursue criminal justice at a college or university.

Law enforcement tactics
Crime scene investigation and processing
Forensic science including DNA, fingerprinting, explosives, and arson
Corrections (jail or prison guard)
Private security including retail and uniformed positions
Critical incident response
Court processes and procedures
Criminal and civil law
Defensive tactics
Interview and interrogation
Crash investigation
Impaired driving enforcement and field sobriety testing
911 Emergency dispatching

3 elective credits
0.5 Forensic science credit
Law Enforcement II:

College credits available through articulation agreements with Columbus State Community College, Hocking College, Marion Technical College, and through Career-Technical Assurance Guides (CTAGs)
CTAGs are transferrable to Ohio public colleges. Credits vary per program.

This program is participating in the Chromebook One to One Experience. An additional one-time fee to purchase a Chromebook will be waived if you are a returning student who has already participated in the Chromebook One to One Experience or if you are bringing your own technology.
