On October 3rd, students from the Delaware Area Career Center’s Career-Based Intervention (CBI) programs at Buckeye Valley Middle School and Dempsey Middle School participated in Manufacturing Day by visiting local businesses and learning firsthand what goes into today’s modern manufacturing careers.
Manufacturing Day is a national celebration of the manufacturing industry and its critical role in the economy. DACC used this opportunity to connect students with professionals from leading local businesses, including PPG, Federal Heath, City of Delaware Water Department, and Solut!.
During these site visits, students explored a variety of workplaces and learned more about the people, processes, and technologies involved in creating products and services that impact their daily lives. They also had the chance to ask questions, observe real-world operations, and consider how their own skills and interests might align with future career opportunities in the field.
Thank you to Dempsey CBI Instructor, Ms. Nicki Wright, and Buckeye Valley Middle School CBI Instructor, Ms. Tina Curran, for coordinating these visits and creating such an engaging experience for our students.
