Makayla Hartley, a 2023 graduate of Delaware Area Career Center’s Nail Technician program, is continuing her education at Otterbein University, where she is double majoring in Art and Business.
Reflecting on her time at DACC, Makayla shares how the experience shaped her future plans. “It helped me figure out what I want to do someday. I have a back-up plan that can lead me to success,” she said.
Her time at DACC gave her not only technical skills but also the confidence to explore different career pathways. For current and future students, she offers encouraging words: “Don’t give up—in the end, it’s worth it.”
Makayla’s story is a reminder that career and technical education provides students with both hands-on skills and a foundation to pursue their passions in college and beyond.
