Congratulations to our Equine Science and Wildlife and Resource Management students who competed at recent statewide FFA and HOSA events.
In the FFA Animal Management event, the team of Lauren Niccum (12th grade, Westerville North High School), Emma Westlake (12th grade, Westerville North High School), Emily Walter (11th grade, Delaware Hayes High School), and Olive Montgomery (11th grade, Westerville North High School, Wildlife program) secured 1st place in the state and will advance to Nationals.
The Equine Management team also claimed 1st place, earning a trip to Nationals. This team includes Lauren Niccum (12th grade, Westerville North High School), Daphne Lanctot (11th grade, Upper Arlington High School), Katelyn Dixon (12th grade, Delaware Hayes High School), and Katelyn Chrapkiewicz (11th grade, Olentangy Berlin High School).
In the Veterinary Science competition, Lauren Niccum and Emma Westlake once again demonstrated excellence alongside Hailey Stroup (12th grade, Lighthouse Christian Academy) and Isabelle Lazar (12th grade, Delaware Hayes High School), finishing 1st and qualifying for Nationals.
Additionally, Emily Walter earned 1st place in the HOSA Veterinary Medical Law and Ethics competition. Although this event does not lead to a national level, her accomplishment represents a significant achievement within Ohio.
