We are incredibly proud of our DACC/Big Walnut and DACC/Buckeye Valley students for their outstanding achievements at the 2025 Ohio FFA Convention. Thank you to our instructors, Mr. Zimmer, Mr. Stimmell, and Mrs. Febes for all of their guidance and support throughout the year.

Ohio FFA State Officer Position
Paris Anderson, a student from Big Walnut High School enrolled in DACC's Agricultural Science program, was elected as an Ohio FFA State Vice President at Large. This appointment is particularly noteworthy as Paris is the first state officer from Big Walnut in over 30 years and the first from any DACC program since approximately 2012.

AgriScience Fair
Aashvi Soni achieved first place in the Plant Systems Division V category at the Ohio FFA Agriscience Fair, showcasing her dedication to agricultural research and innovation.

Officer Books
The DACC FFA chapter received Gold Ratings for exemplary officer books:

  • Chelsie Kofi-Opata – Gold-Rated Secretary

  • Aashvi Soni – Gold-Rated Treasurer

  • Lainey Souile – Gold-Rated Reporter

These honors reflect the students' commitment to excellence in record-keeping and organizational leadership.

Career Development Event Recognitions
DACC FFA teams and individuals excelled in several Career Development Events (CDEs):

  • Floriculture CDE Team: Secured first place, with all four members earning $10,000 scholarships. The team advances to the national competition.

  • Food Science & Technology CDE Team: Achieved first place, with three students receiving scholarships. Notably, Joshua Schutt earned first place as an individual. The team progresses to nationals.

  • High School Milk Quality & Products CDE Team: Won first place, with Riley Norling recognized as the top individual. The team advances to the national level.

  • Middle School Milk Quality & Products CDE Team: Earned first place, demonstrating the strength of DACC's agricultural education across grade levels.

  • Small Animal Grooming CDE: Lainey Souile achieved first place individually, highlighting her expertise in animal care.

State Degree Recipients
Seven students from Big Walnut and Buckeye Valley High Schools, participating in DACC's Agricultural Science program, were awarded the prestigious Ohio FFA State Degree:

  • Teagan Jagger (Buckeye Valley)

This honor recognizes their exceptional commitment to agricultural education and leadership.

National Recognition
The DACC FFA Food Science & Technology CDE Team achieved national acclaim by securing first place at the National FFA Convention, underscoring the program's excellence on a national stage.

Honoring Community Supporters
Dan and Cheryl Durheim were awarded the Honorary Ohio FFA State Degree in recognition of their decade-long dedication to the DACC FFA program. Their service on the advisory committee and various contributions have been instrumental in the program's success.
