EXS and CJ

At DACC, creativity and collaboration are more than just classroom values, they're part of our real-world learning and experiences.

Thanks to a partnership between Exercise Science and Sports Medicine Instructor Mr. Melish and Criminal Justice Instructor Mr. Allen, students in both programs are now part of a unique hands-on experience designed to simulate real career expectations.

Recognizing the importance of physical fitness in law enforcement, Mr. Melish and Mr. Allen designed a cross-program project where Exercise Science and Sports Medicine students evaluate the fitness levels of Criminal Justice students using police standards. From there, they develop customized workout plans to help them improve and succeed.

This collaboration provides Exercise Science and Sports Medicine students with meaningful, one-on-one client experience, while Criminal Justice students benefit from training plans tailored to their individual strengths and challenges.

Stay tuned throughout the year as we follow their progress and share stories from both programs.
