Alum Creek Elementary Visit

Seniors from three of DACC's skilled trades programs visited Olentangy's Alum Creek Elementary on Thursday to speak to fourth- and fifth-graders about how their current interests might align with potential career opportunities down the road.

The seniors, representing DACC's Power Sports and Diesel Technology, Welding and Sheet Metal Fabrication, and Robotics, Automation and Design programs, talked about their interests when they were in elementary school and how those not only led them to where they are today – but also where they plan to go in the future. The fourth- and fifth-graders got to hear about the kind of hands-on education offered at DACC and about the immense opportunities available for students pursuing careers in skilled trades and STEM-related fields.

Coordinated by DACC Career Readiness Coordinator Lisa-Marie Reinhart, the visit was part of the district’s Career Readiness Outreach program. This program aims to create opportunities for elementary and middle school-aged children in and around Delaware County to learn more about their college and career options in the future.
