Landcape Olympics

Congratulations to the DACC Landscape Architecture and Construction students for taking third place overall in the statewide Landscape Olympics, held on March 29th at the DACC Main Campus.

Landcape Olympics

In order to qualify for the Landscape Olympics, students participated in competitions in January and February that consisted of safety practices, industry knowledge, estimating, and tree and insect identification. The top ten teams each send their top four competitors to compete in the finals in these categories:

  • Irrigation
  • Estimating
  • Tree Installation
  • Zero Turn Mowing
  • Sod Install
  • Walk-behind

The team of Azaria Juillet, Thomas Griffin, Taelynn Ayers, and Zach Biniker took third place overall in the competition. In addition,

  • Azaria took 10th place overall in the individual competition.
  • Zach Biniker took 2nd in Zero Turn Mowing.
  • Taelynn and Azaria together took 2nd place in Tree Installation, earning a perfect score.
  • Taelynn and Azariah together took 1st place in Sod Install with a perfect score.
