Student Policies & Handbook

The Delaware Area Career Center is committed to providing our students with the career, academic and positive behavior skills necessary to make a significant contribution to the community.

Message from the High School Administrative Team

As the building administrative team, we would like to welcome you to the Delaware Area Career Center! The 2022-23 school year promises to be an exciting and rewarding journey for all. Our staff stands ready to engage you in high-quality instruction so that we prepare you for college and future careers simultaneously. Daily opportunities await you to enhance your academic and career technical skills. We will challenge you to interact with state-of-the-art technology while developing your leadership skills. Your academic preparation continues through competitive events in BPA, FCCLA, FFA, HOSA, or SkillsUSA. These competitions are held around the region, state, and/or country. Successful participation in these events is another way to confirm your skill and ability to our business partners and future employers. Our school's partnership with business, industry and labor, and community organizations will offer you career and life experiences beyond what is learned in the classroom or lab.

DACC is staffed by one of the finest groups of career technical and academic instructors, counselors, administrative assistants, and administrators in the state. We are all here to assure that you have every opportunity to excel in your career tech lab and in your rigorous academic classes. Also, you have the opportunity to be involved in a wide variety of extra and co-curricular clubs and activities during the year. Research shows that this involvement directly contributes to increased school success.

Please carefully read the student handbook because it contains guidelines and recommendations that will allow you to take full advantage of the opportunities available here at DACC. The expectations and guidelines have been put in place to ensure that all behavior influences the school community in a positive way so that you and your fellow students can achieve your goals.

Our best to you as you prepare for this year and your future. We look forward to a productive, successful, and enjoyable year.

Sincerely,
