Cybersecurity

The field of information technology and cybersecurity is growing at an exponential rate. DACC students will differentiate themselves on college applications and job resumes by getting comprehensive experience with the hardware and software used in the industry.

Program Highlights:

Develop the rigor, industry knowledge, work ethic, and abilities necessary for a career in cybersecurity and information technology, including:

  • Computer systems design and related services

  • Finance and insurance

  • Administrative and support services

  • Management of companies and enterprises

  • AFA CyberPatriot competition

  • MITRE’s eCTF (embedded capture-the-flag) competition

Area of Study:

  • Computer hardware

  • Computer software

  • Networking equipment

  • Single-board computers

  • Senior projects

  • CompTIA A+

  • CompTIA Security+

  • Embedded microcontrollers

Credits Available:

  • 3 elective credits per year

  • College credits available through an articulation agreement with Hocking College and through Career-Technical Assurance Guides (CTAGs)

CTAGs are transferrable to Ohio public colleges. Credits vary per program.

Industry Credentials Available:

  • 11th Grade - CompTIA A+ ***

  • 12th Grade - CompTIA Security+ ***

***Industry credential recognized by ODE for points toward graduation.
