More than 35 students from DACC showcased their technical skills and professionalism at the 2026 SkillsUSA State Championship, held Tuesday and Wednesday, May 5–6, at the Greater Columbus Convention Center.
DACC students competed in 15 different contests, representing a wide range of career and technical education pathways. Throughout the competition, students demonstrated strong technical abilities, creativity, and teamwork while completing challenging projects aligned to industry standards.
Among the highlights of the event, DACC earned a Bronze Medal (3rd Place) in the Chapter Display competition. The award-winning display highlighted the breadth of DACC’s career-technical labs and programs and reflected a collaborative effort involving students from multiple labs.
The Chapter Display project was completed under the guidance of Mr. Finnegan, Auto Collision instructor, with support from students across the campus. Student presenters for the third-place team included Rory Powers (ACT 2), Lilyn Wood, and Antonella Sofia Trujillo Fattori (CT 1).
Although no students advanced to the national competition this year, DACC administrators and staff praised the students’ commitment and performance.
“Congratulations to all of our students who participated,” said Kelly Kohl, SkillsUSA Advisor. “Their hard work, teamwork, and professionalism were on full display throughout the competition.”
