Autumn Imhoff, a 2020 graduate of DACC’s Digital Design program, is carving out an impressive career in sports media. As a Video Production Assistant for Ohio State Athletics Live Events Video and Big Ten Plus, Autumn works on live broadcasts for all sports, including football. She’s also a broadcast freelancer for Columbus Clippers Baseball TV. Her passion for her work shines through as she shares, “I absolutely love what I do, and I couldn’t be more grateful. Being able to work in sports media has been the most fulfilling job.”
Autumn’s journey is particularly inspiring as she challenges norms in a male-dominated industry. “Being a young female in this industry is not the norm, but I feel like I am breaking barriers,” she says. “I give a huge thanks to the Digital Design program for allowing me to figure out what I wanted to do and giving me the confidence to know I can.”
Reflecting on her time at DACC, Autumn highlights how the program fostered her creativity and provided a supportive environment to explore her interests. “The Digital Design program showed me all aspects of digital design and let me pursue what interested me most,” she explains. Her involvement with DACC’s school news allowed her to try her hand at producing, directing, camera work, anchoring, and editing—experiences that ultimately led her to study journalism and media production at The Ohio State University.
For current and future DACC students, Autumn offers this advice: “Don’t be afraid to try new things! You’re allowed to pursue more than one thing, and being versatile is so important. Take this time as a junior and senior to do what you love, and most importantly, don’t be afraid to ask questions. DACC is full of amazing teachers and instructors who care about you and want to see you be the best you can be, just like they did for me.”
