To kick off Manufacturing Month, students in DACC’s Engineering programs connected with professionals from Honda North America and Tesla through virtual presentations and discussions. Engineering – Robotics, Automation, and Design Instructor, Mr. Paisie, shared that his class was able to make direct connections between what they are learning in class and what representatives from Tesla highlighted in their presentations. He also added that the internship and workforce development opportunities that Tesla offers has become a motivating factor for his students.
Engineering juniors were able to speak with Engineers from the Honda Auto Development Center in Raymond, Ohio. According to Mr. Paisie, “The engineers mentioned multiple times that they were impressed with the questions that we had for them.” The webcasts students participated in included, “Introducing Honda’s Development Center” and “How Honda is Using Virtual Reality Training Methods.” These webcasts are available now through the Honda Future Workforce website. Our students will be revisiting these webcasts throughout the year to pull even more great information from these resources.
