DACC Staff Spotlight: Jeanette Pillow, Payroll & Benefits Manager

This is Jeanette Pillow’s 5th year at DACC. Before DACC, she worked at Olentangy Local Schools for 12 years. Jeanette also has experience in banking, indirect lending, and decisioning auto loan applications.

Jeanette’s favorite memory at DACC is sitting in the “old” South Campus in the “Sunshine Room” to eat lunch with fellow co-workers. “The Sunshine Room was a corner area with glass on two outside walls of the building. When the new addition was being added to South Campus, we continued eating in that room, watching all the heavy equipment operators tear through the earth to begin construction of our new improved South Campus! It was so exciting to see it come together from the very first dig!”

Jeanette loves her job! “I love the diversity working in Payroll & Benefits and helping staff coordinate their way through new hire on-boarding processes to helping staff members prepare for retirement.”

Jeanette is married and has two daughters: Alexis, 25, and Allyson, 21; and 4 stepchildren: Mason Jr., 24; Cade, 22; Bella, 20; and Gracie, 18. They have a Bengal cat named Khali who is so involved in the family’s day-to-day activities and always so vocal!

When not working, Jeanette loves getting wind therapy from riding their motorcycle. She also enjoys riding bicycles and camping every summer with her friends! She loves being outdoors and hiking, kayaking, or just working in the yard! She and her husband are up for any adventure and always willing to try something new. Last summer, they tried white-water rafting and had so much fun that they went back in the fall and rafted through 5, Class V rapids. They hope to try an overnight rafting adventure soon.

Favorite quote: “I believe that everything happens for a reason. People change so that you can learn to let go, things go wrong so that you appreciate them when they’re right. You believe lies so you eventually learn to trust no one but yourself, and sometimes good things fall apart so better things can fall together.” - Marilyn Monroe
