DACC Staff Spotlight: Darlene Steward, Health Care Professional

Darlene Steward started her journey at DACC as the Health Care Professional in November. Darlene has been a nurse ‘all my adult life.’ Prior to DACC, she was a Public Health Nurse at Wyandot County Public Health for 19 years, the last 12 years serving as Director of Nursing. She’s spent many years working in family practice, hospice care and hospital nursing.

Darlene and her husband Jim have been married for 15 years. Together they have 4 adult children, 3 beautiful grandchildren, and a very spoiled, 12-year-old Terrier mix, Pongo.

When not working, Darlene loves spending time at their get-away home in Port Clinton, primarily in the summer, with her feet in the sand and reading a good murder/mystery. She also enjoys walking, gardening, small craft projects, seeking out new wineries but most of all, spending time with her grandchildren.

Favorite quote: “Caring is the essence of nursing.” - Jean Watson

A message from Darlene: “We have made great strides during the past year in dealing with Covid19. I encourage everyone and their families to continue following the guidance of the Ohio Department of Health. Wear your mask; Wash your hands; Watch your distance when in social settings. Happy Nurse’s Week to all dedicated to the field of Nursing. 😊
