DACC Staff Spotlight: Kendall Friend, Café Manager

Kendall Friend is in his 3rd year at DACC. He graduated from Sullivan University in 2010 with an associate’s in culinary arts and then The Ohio State University in 2014 with a bachelor’s in hospitality management. He spent 13 years in the culinary field working at country clubs, catering companies, hotels, restaurants and nursing homes.

Kendall’s favorite part about working at DACC is being able to listen to what students want in the café and making that a reality. Kendall has also enjoyed teaching Adult Education enrichment classes this year at DACC.

Kendall is a 4-H advisor and loves helping youth with their animal projects, especially horses. When not working, Kendall enjoys Walleye and Perch fishing on Lake Erie, restoring cars with his dad, and going to car shows with his family (1965 K-Code Mustang, 1979 F-150 Ranger, and 2015 50th Anniversary Mustang). He also caters for Silverback Safety Training which trains firefighters, EMS and police all around the state and country. Kendall plans to take a family vacation once a year - Nashville, TN is this year’s destination.
