DACC Staff Spotlight: Maddy Shumaker, Project Search Instructor
Maddie Shumaker is in her 7th year at DACC. She has a passion for working with students and loves “hearing student success in their positions after graduating from my program!”
Maddie is engaged to her fiancé Luke. They have been together for 7 years. “His family is already my family. We have no pets of our own, but all of our parents and most of the siblings have dogs. We are dog people!” Maddie has a younger sister that is married and lives in Florida.
When not teaching, Maddie enjoys creating new and engaging activities and getting to know her students and their families on a personal level.
Favorite quote: “Work smarter, not harder.” This is something Maddie grew up hearing a lot from her mom and it has always stuck with her, especially as a working adult now!
