DACC Staff Spotlight: Gary Kessler, Landscape Architecture & Construction Instructor

Gary Kessler is in his 22nd year at DACC. He has worked in the landscape and golf course industry since he was 15. Gary was also the production manager for the landscape installation division of a company in central Ohio.

Gary’s favorite teaching memory was taking four students to compete in the Nursery Landscape FFA competition at the Big E in Massachusetts. “For three of the students, it was their first time out of Ohio and on a plane. It was great to be a part of providing those students with that opportunity.”

Gary has been married to Jennifer Kessler, the Equine Science Instructor at DACC for 28 years. They have 4 children, Morgan, Blake, Grant, and Maria. On their farm, they have 16 horses, 6 donkeys, 2 Longhorn cattle, 2 dogs, a turkey, a hedgehog, and 5 cats.

In his free time, Gary enjoys installing patios and other hardscapes, working on the farm, being a 4-H advisor, and spending time with the family.
