DACC Staff Spotlight: Emilie Gossett, Intervention Specialist

Emilie Gossett has been at DACC for 3 years. Before coming to DACC, she taught in Specialized Learning Centers that focused around autism and intellectual disabilities in Olentangy Local Schools for 13 years.

Watching students grow is rewarding to Emilie. “My most favorite memories are when my students learn self-advocacy and they start to advocate for themselves by asking for help or accommodations on their own in classes.”

Emilie and her husband have two girls, ages 7 and 4. Their 7-year-old is their tomboy and is 2 belts away from her black belt in taekwondo. Their 4-year-old is the ultimate girly-girl who loves to wear dresses, play with Barbies, and takes ballet. Her family has a Boxer that they rescued when he was one.

When not teaching, Emilie loves binge watching shows and having movie nights with her girls.  Her family also plays a lot of games… current favorites are currently Uno Flip, Battleship, and Clue Jr.
