July 6, 2020

Eight area students have been announced as winners of the annual Delaware Area Career Portfolio Competition. Each student will receive a $250 cash award from their sponsoring organization and an award certificate from the Delaware Area Career Center. Read the full article in the Delaware Gazette.

A Career Portfolio is intended as a summary of a student’s achievements in high school and a blueprint for the immediate future. Students created electronic portfolios in Google Slides using documents, photos, and multi-media to showcase their skills, career interests, and experiences.  Portfolios also captured education and training, work-based learning experiences, volunteer work, or extra-curricular activities.

The competition was open to area seniors from Big Walnut, Buckeye Valley, Delaware Area Career Center, Delaware Hayes, Olentangy, Olentangy Berlin, Olentangy Liberty, and Olentangy Orange High Schools.  One student from each school was chosen to be recognized by a panel of judges. These volunteer judges consisted of community members, area businesses, and educators.
