DACC Staff Spotlight: Kamal Vilkhu, Dental Assisting Instructor

Kamal Vilkhu has been teaching at DACC for 16 years. She has her dental degree from India and worked as a dentist there until moving to the United States where she worked as an orthodontic assistant for two years.

Ms. V’s favorite lesson each year is taking her students to elementary schools to teach children how to take care of their teeth. “My students thoroughly enjoy this lesson and the students learn about their own personality and how they interact with other personalities.”

Kamal has a son working on his PhD at Stanford University and a daughter in her last year of Biomedical Engineering at OSU. When not teaching, she enjoys reading books, listening to music, gardening, and taking care of her house plants.
