Girls in Tech - Sydney

Forget what you know about girls in tech. The women of DACC are thriving in traditionally male dominated programs and tackling female stereotypes. Here are their stories.

Sydney has always enjoyed taking things apart just to see how they work. “A common attribute among engineering students,” as she says. Her love for all things mechanical has been passed down from her dad. An engineer himself, he taught Sydney to appreciate learning how things work and today, they enjoy talking about all of the projects Sydney has been working on in DACC’s Engineering Technology Program.

Currently, Sydney is designing a prosthetic arm as her capstone project. She has always wanted to help people and has a fascination with biology. She is planning on majoring in Mechanical Engineering in college and collecting as many certifications as she can along the way to launch her career as a Prosthetic Designer and Technician.
