PPG Live Fire Training

When it comes to workplace safety, preparation can make all the difference. Recently, employees from PPG visited the Delaware Area Career Center’s main campus to participate in specialized emergency response training designed to help keep their facility and employees safe.

Because PPG works with highly flammable materials, selected employees volunteer to serve on the company’s emergency response team. These team members receive advanced training that enables them to respond to fires and other emergencies during the critical moments before local fire departments arrive.

During their training at DACC, participants completed hands-on instruction in Live Fire Training, Emergency Response Training, Confined Spaces Training, Hazardous Materials Training, and CPR. DACC is proud to partner with PPG and provide access to its training grounds and industry-experienced instructors for this important safety initiative.

This type of training is available to businesses throughout Central Ohio through DACC’s Customized Training Program, which offers flexible workforce development opportunities tailored to the unique needs of employers. Customized training options include specialized safety and emergency response courses, welding instruction, and a variety of other workforce training solutions designed to strengthen employee skills and workplace readiness.

Businesses interested in learning more about customized training opportunities are encouraged to contact Chad Williams, Adult Education Director, at williamsc@delawareareacc.org. DACC’s customized training offerings can be delivered on campus, at a company location, or at another designated site to meet employer needs.
