DACC Library Media Specialist Grace Hammond Honored with Statewide Award

The Delaware Area Career Center is proud to share that Grace Hammond, DACC’s Library Media Specialist, has been named the 2025 recipient of the OELMA/Follett School Solutions Outstanding School Librarian Award. Presented by the Ohio Educational Library Media Association (OELMA), this prestigious award recognizes one school librarian in the state each year who exemplifies excellence in creating and leading an innovative school library program.

Ms. Hammond has served as a librarian for 27 years, including the last eight at DACC, where she has consistently demonstrated a commitment to student success, staff support, and ongoing professional growth. She is recognized as a lifelong learner, holding a Master of Library and Information Science (MLIS), school librarian certification, and an endorsement in Teacher Leadership through Ohio Dominican University. She has also completed specialized training in areas such as Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction, which she leads monthly for DACC teachers.

Through her work at DACC, Ms. Hammond has developed numerous digital resources and tools that support both in-person and online learners. Programs like the Digital Health and Wellness curriculum, Work Smarter Boot Camp, and a series of instructional YouTube videos have become integral parts of the DACC learning experience. These resources help ensure equitable access to quality learning and reflect her focus on innovation and engagement. In 2022, she was honored with the YALSA Innovation Award for the Work Smarter Boot Camp.

Ms. Hammond was officially recognized at the 2025 OELMA Conference and Awards Ceremony, on November 14–15 at OCLC in Dublin, Ohio.

We are proud to celebrate Grace’s achievements and the impact she makes every day at DACC. Congratulations on this well-deserved honor!
