Kaelyn Starkey

Meet Kaelyn Starkey, a proud alumna of DACC! Graduating from Hayes High School and completing DACC's Equine Science program in 2019, Kaelyn is now finalizing her Bachelor's degree in Equine Science. Her journey post-DACC has been remarkable, involving extensive travel and diverse experiences in the equine industry.

After graduation, Kaelyn lived in Florida, working with The Livestock Conservancy to preserve a critically endangered horse breed. She then returned to Ohio to collaborate with a renowned Reining Horse trainer, traveling to shows, aiding in training, and conducting lessons. Her skills also led her to veterinary assistant roles at local clinics in Delaware.

Currently, Kaelyn is gearing up for her 2023 Rodeo season with her horse, Woody, while completing her degree to become an Animal Nutrition Consultant.

Reflecting on her time at DACC, Kaelyn shares, “DACC opened numerous doors for me, enhancing my knowledge and paving the way to a flourishing career. I'm grateful for the comprehensive education, practical experience, and supportive community at DACC that propelled me into diverse job opportunities. My participation in FFA, HOSA, and numerous external engagements at DACC significantly enriched my skills and confidence.”

To our current and future students, Kaelyn offers this invaluable advice: “Engage actively with your instructors for additional resources and insights. Embrace every opportunity to showcase your talents, whether in competitions or through internships. Don't hesitate to step out of your comfort zone – it's essential for career growth.”
