We are proud to announce the appointment of Sgt. Greg Davies as the new Coordinator for the Ohio Basic Peace Officer Training Academy (OBPOTA). Sgt. Davies brings with him an impressive 28 years of experience in law enforcement, including his current role as a Sergeant for the Columbus Airport Police Department and as the K-9 Unit Supervisor and Trainer.

 

The OBPOTA at DACC is an 8-month program designed for adults aspiring to enter the field of law enforcement. Tailored to accommodate working adults, the academy offers evening and weekend classes, providing a flexible yet rigorous training course that meets all requirements of the Ohio Peace Officer Training Commission (OPOTC). Under Sgt. Davies' leadership, the program is set to not only continue its legacy of excellence but also expand its reach and impact within the community.

 

Sgt. Davies is enthusiastic about his new role and is committed to leveraging his industry experience to enhance the program. He is looking forward to connecting students with professionals in the field, facilitating real-world learning and networking opportunities. His vision for the academy aligns perfectly with DACC's overarching goal to empower, prepare, inspire, and connect students to future opportunities.
