On June 16th, the Ohio Department of Education and the Ohio Department of Higher Education honored a teacher and student from the Delaware Area Career Center at the second annual Adult Education Week event held at the Educational Service Center of Central Ohio.
Theresa Kempker was recognized as the Outstanding Adult Educator of the Year for ESOL in Central Ohio. Abigail Enweonwu was honored as the Outstanding Adult Student/Participant of the Year.
Adult Education Week serves to raise awareness about Ohio's Adult Diploma options and to acknowledge outstanding adult educators, participants, and graduates. It also aims to foster relationships between education providers and community stakeholders, working towards closing the adult education gap affecting 874,499 working-age adults in Ohio without a high school diploma or equivalency.
