Visitors

At DACC, we are continuously monitoring our safety procedures. Our safety measures incorporate building security, mental health support, and a 'see something, say something' atmosphere. In addition, all visitors will be asked to check in using a government-issued photo ID before entering the building.

What this means for visitors
Any time you enter our building, we will ask to see a government-issued form of identification and your ID will be scanned into the system before you can enter the building or pick up a student. The system helps us ensure a safe and welcoming environment for all. Using this system, we are better able to protect students, staff, and visitors by:

  • Keeping track of those who enter our campus and facilities

  • Checking visitors against the national database of registered sex offenders

  • Knowing how many people are in the building in case of fire or other disaster

If you visit our building frequently, we will ask you to follow this process each time. This may add a few additional minutes to your trip, so please plan accordingly.

Once you are cleared, you will immediately receive a custom printed badge with your photo on it. This badge must be worn at all times and we ask that you only go to the areas of the building for which you have been approved.

What this means for our students
One of the many benefits of being a CTE student is having access to DACC’s business and industry partners. These professionals visit our campus to give presentations about their industry, provide demonstrations, conduct mock interviews, and judge senior projects. The Raptor system allows us to be even more thorough in vetting visitors who enter our building.

The safety and well-being of our students remains our number one priority. We appreciate your patience as we continuously evaluate and improve our processes.

Q & A on the Raptor Visitor Management System

What does the Raptor System do?
The system helps us ensure a safe and welcoming environment for all. Using this system, we are better able to protect students, staff, and visitors by:

  • Keeping track of those who enter our campus and facilities

  • Checking visitors against the national database of registered sex offenders

  • Knowing how many people are in the building in case of fire or other disaster

No other data from the ID is gathered or recorded and the information is not shared with any outside agency.

Once entry is approved, Raptor will issue a badge that identifies the visitor, the date, and the purpose of his/her visit.

What if I am just dropping off something for my child at the office?
The same process will be followed, but a visitor’s badge will not be necessary for those who visit our schools simply to drop off an item in the office or pick up paperwork. You will be expected to immediately vacate the building.

What if I am picking up my child early?
Upon entering a district building, visitors will be asked to present a photo ID such as a Driver’s License or passport.  Your ID will either be scanned or manually entered into the system.  Once cleared, your child will either be called down to the main office from their current location or you will be issued a badge to pick up your child at the nurse’s office or attendance office.  If issued a badge, you must return to the main office to sign out.

What about evening events?
We will not be scanning IDs for events held at the buildings after school hours. All visitors will be scanned in during the hours of 7:00am – 3:30pm.

What if I do not have a US Government ID?

  • If a parent or guardian for any reason does not have a US government-issued ID, the school staff member can use an alternate photo ID.

  • In this case the visitor must present their non-US government photo ID as well as a second ID with their name on it, such as a bank card or credit card.

  • As long as we have two forms of identification, one with a photo, we will manually enter the person’s name and birth date into the Raptor system.
