Alumni - Elizabeth Roe

Elizabeth “Ries” Roe, a 2011 graduate of Westerville South High School, has built a career rooted in innovation, persistence, and a passion for electronics. Today, she works as an electrical engineer specializing in design and consulting at HAWA Engineers—a field she says she “absolutely loves.” Balancing her professional success with family life, Elizabeth is also a proud spouse and parent to a four-year-old.

Elizabeth’s path has been consistent and intentional. From her time in the Electronics program, she continued pursuing her interest through college and into her career. That dedication helped her develop both the technical skills and the confidence needed to succeed in a competitive industry.

As a woman in engineering, Elizabeth recognizes the importance of confidence and preparation. She credits her early experiences with helping her feel capable and ready to contribute in her field, noting that the foundation she built gave her guidance as she moved forward academically and professionally.

Her advice to current students is simple but powerful: stay committed to your path. Following your interests and continuing to build your skills can open doors to meaningful and rewarding work.

We are proud to celebrate Elizabeth’s accomplishments and her continued impact in the engineering field.
