DACC recently partnered with Shale Meadows Elementary School in the Olentangy School District as part of the school’s Health Week Project-Based Learning (PBL) experience. DACC student ambassadors from healthcare pathway programs led engaging, hands-on sessions for 4th grade students focused on dental hygiene, nutrition, proper handwashing, physical fitness, and safe medication use.
The experience provided meaningful learning for elementary students while also giving DACC students an opportunity to demonstrate leadership, build confidence, and practice communication skills by teaching younger learners. The collaboration highlighted the value of community partnerships and showcased how career-technical students can serve as role models and educators.
This partnership reflects DACC’s commitment to student leadership, real-world learning, and community engagement.
