Becoming a Medical Assistant allows you to get started in a high demand career right out of high school. In larger practices or hospitals, Medical Assistants may specialize in either clinical or administrative work. Additional education and on-the-job training will further your career options. In 2016, Medical Assistants held about 634,400 jobs. The profession is projected to grow by 29% in the next 10 years.
