Student practice important safety and rescue techniques

October 26, 2010

Earlier this month, Law Enforcement students and Environmental Technology students collaborated to review safety and rescue procedures. Students were asked to assess a scenario in which they witnessed a car accident with both conscious and unconscious victims. Instructors reviewed the importance of calling for help and calling 911, assessing which victim to attend to first, and making sure they do not put themselves into harm’s way as rescuers.

Once inside, the students practiced giving CPR and reviewed what to do in situations where they find themselves to be the sole rescuer. No matter what continuing education or career our students choose, their knowledge of these rescue skills will be a great asset to them throughout their life.
