'Growing Up Wild' First Impressions Program

May 24, 2010

Grace Family Preschool and Grace Community School hosted “Growing Up Wild” at the Delaware County Fairgrounds on Friday, May 21st, along with the help of Delaware Soil and Water Conservation District.

They invited DACC students from the Environmental Technologies program to introduce some new animals to the group – Mr. Grimes and his students didn’t disappoint. The children were able to meet and pet a snapping turtle, an alligator, a ferret, a tortoise, hissing cockroaches and a snake. They also impressed the adults with their ability to identify the skins of other animals, such as a wolf and skunk.

Thanks to Mr. Grimes and his students, David Hursey, Vanessa Weaver and Taylor Luke for participating in this fun and engaging activity.
