DACC Seniors Earn World Organization of Webmasters Certification

July 21, 2010

Right before they left for the summer, Josh Gallagan’s ITA – Media and Digital Video senior class took the World Organization of Webmasters web designers exam to earn their World of Webmasters (WOW) Certification. The WOW Certification is a benchmark for anyone who plans to work in the interactive technology industry. Businesses also use the WOW Certification as a guide to measure and evaluate potential employees for their organization.

Of the 14 media seniors who took World Organization of Webmaster Certified Web Designer Exam, 9 passed the exam at the apprentice level with a 50-70% and 3 passed the exam at the higher associate level with a 70-90%.

“Our Interactive Media class covers all types of media, such as photography, audio production and video editing,” says Josh Gallagan. “Everything my students learn to do has the potential to end up online, so it’s crucial that they understand the fundamentals involved in producing a web site. I’m so proud of my students. This certification will be a great addition to college applications and resumes.”
