More than 37 preschool children recently participated in this fun, week-long program during which they learned riding toy safety lessons taught by the ECE students while raising money for St. Jude. The week ended with kids bringing their trikes and riding toys to school and practicing the rules they learned.  The children completed laps around the Trike-a-Thon track designed by the ECE students. The ECE students decorated the trike course with balloons and streamers.  Parents and ECE students helped the preschool children obtain sponsors.

St. Jude depends on community-based fundraising programs like Trike-A-Thon. At St. Jude, families never pay for treatment not covered by insurance and no child is ever denied treatment because of the family's inability to pay. The daily operating cost for St. Jude is $1.5 million, which is primarily covered by public contributions.
