SkillsUSA National Champions - Again

July 2, 2015

Congratulations to all of our SkillsUSA National Competitors! Just making it to the national level is an achievement to be proud of and we couldn't be more proud of our students.

The Chapter Display team claimed the gold medal for the second year in a row, led by their SkillsUSA Advisor and Welding Instructor, Brad DeMent. The team consisted of Brooke Mack, Kendall Dorsey, Megan Stark, and Chance Cobb.

These four students came together from the Power Sports & Diesel Technology program, the Automotive Collision program, the Welding and Sheet Metal program, and the Digital Design program to contribute their talents to the project.

However, it was a true team effort that helped this team make it to nationals and take first place. According to Mr. DeMent, every student in the Automotive Collision and Welding and Sheet Metal senior classes had a hand in contributing to the project. In addition, special thanks goes to Mrs. Ezell and Mr. Gallagan for their support throughout the project.

Hunter Rupp and Armand Rosario competed in the Web Design Competition on behalf of DACC's Digital Design program. They placed 7th out of 31 teams.

Luke Brenning competed in Principles of Technology on behalf of the Electronics program and placed 6th.
