On January 31st, Delaware Area Career Center students from three programs participated in the Business Professionals of America Region 4 Championships and fifteen of those students will move on to compete at the statewide competition in March in downtown Columbus.
Business Professionals of America is a national organization for Career and Technical students interested in pursuing a career in management, office administration, information technology, and other related fields. Only first place winners at the regional competition will compete against the best of the best at states.Information Technology Instructor, Josh Gallagan explained, “I try to put them in as many situations as possible to make them more confident in their skills and more comfortable in professional settings. These competitions do exactly that. They are being interviewed, giving presentations, and taking tests. The experiences they have at these competitions will definitely prove beneficial when they apply for colleges and jobs.”
