Delaware Area Career Center: Who we are and who we serve

Delaware Area Career Center is located in Delaware, Ohio, twenty miles north of Columbus, Ohio. Annually, we serve over 750 high school students from ten different high schools and over 4,000 adults in a large variety of full-time and part-time programs. We have two facilities, our North Campus at 1610 St. Rt. 521; and our South Campus at 4565 Columbus Pike on St. Rt. 23. Our students primarily come from these school districts:

Big Walnut, Buckeye Valley, Delaware City, Olentangy, Westerville, and Worthington.

Our high school program is open to sophomores, juniors, and seniors. All of our students’ academic and career-technical elective classes apply towards their high school diploma. Upon successful completion, a student can earn from 3 – 21 credits, depending on length of enrollment and number of classes taken. We offer academic courses, such as Pre-Calculus, Statistics, Anatomy & Physiology, and Chemistry, which now allow more college-prep students to enroll in the full-day program.

Ninety-eight percent (98%) of our students attain their high school diploma; ninety-four percent (94%) are employed, attending college, or serving in the military, and of that group, sixty percent (60%) of our students now attend college.

This year, our high school program ranks #1 out of the 49 Ohio career center schools in total percentage points on state performance measures. Last spring we were selected as one of 75 high schools in the National Successful Schools Network, an initiative of the International Center for Leadership in Education. Our successful results and promising practices for student success were factors in our selection.

The Board, staff, and faculty of the Delaware Area Career Center appreciate the community support which has contributed to the continuing growth and success of YOUR area career-technical center!
